Aynne Valencia

Aynne Valencia is a digital product design leader. Her background features a blend of creative management, design research, business strategy, visual design, branding, advertising, marketing, and technology. 

Aynne Valencia is Associate Professor of Interaction Design at California College of Art in San Francisco, she served as Chair of the Department for 5 years. Aynne runs her own design consultancy doing strategic research and design projects.  

Aynne's career spans 25 years in the intersection of technology and design. Her work blends experience design, product design, service design and more experimental work in designing experiences and events for social interaction. She has led design teams and projects during her career at Microsoft, AKQA, Cisco Flip, Fjord, R/GA and most recently as Director of Design for the City and County of San Francisco Digital Services, where she designed the CityTestSF Covid Testing sites and design efforts in the city's response to the pandemic. 

She has led teams to breakthrough, award-winning cross-platform experiences, and campaigns for clients such as Microsoft, Nike, McDonald’s, University of Phoenix, Food for the Hungry, Intuit, JCP, Citibank and Visa.

Always creating, she co-authored O’Reilly Designing Interfaces 3rd Edition and is working on her solo book.  She is also an accomplished artist favoring site-specific immersive experiences.
